we're still alive!!!
So, apparently November was National Blogging Month or something. I celebrated by taking the month (plus some) off!!
My new job is still going great. My boss is not my favorite person, but he's not bad as far as bosses go. He's a nice guy, but micro-manages everything, and seems to always have to be right...even when he's wrong--which is really frustrating sometimes. This week we went to an indoor go-kart track. It was scary for the first few rounds, but it ended up being really fun! I work with all guys, though, so I lost. Terribly. I beat one of the guys, but only because he ran into a wall and completely broke the go-kart he was in. It was a lot more fun than I expected, but I wish Scott could have been there. I hate that he works every night.. :(
Speaking of Scott's job, he just got his schedule changed for Saturdays. Now he'll be off at 5 so we can hang together and go out and stuff. I'm pretty excited about it. His bosses keep praising him, and he's definitely the biggest asset they've got. He does 3 times the average work of anyone else there! Aww I love the boy. I don't really know how I got so lucky.
Last weekend we went to Powell (my first trip) to see Scott's grandparents. We began the trip at midnight last Thursday and drove through the night with Wade and Paula and their baby Wyatt. Wow, it was cold!!! -20 degrees in some spots. The vaca was fun; I learned to play poker, went snowboarding for the first time, and beat Scott and his brother at golf for the first--and probably only--time ever! (I should probably mention that it was wii golf...but still, right?!?) The ride back was much warmer, but I think everyone was glad to be back in Utah. Ahhh...home, sweet (warm) home.
I'm getting really excited for Christmas!!! I finally started Christmas shopping this week...yikes! I thought I got over my procrastination addiction because of school this semester, but it doesn't look like it...Scott and I finally put up our Christmas tree this week, too! It turned out really cute--thanks to Jamie and Adam for the tree and Tress for the decorations! Unfortunately the electricity in our little old house isn't tip-top (the two lamps we had in the living room were for decoration ONLY), so we can't turn the lights on for the tree. They shine a little in the daylight though...if we open all the windows sometimes they seem to catch a little glimer....
One thing I'm REALLY excited about, is that my sister's flying in tomorrow from Memphis!! Rachel's been teaching high school out there, and I've missed her a lot. I'm really excited to see her, and I just hope that she gets enough sleep tonight that she'll be ready to play the minute I see her.
Well, in case it takes me a while to get an update on our blog, Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night!
sis! i miss you and wish you'd tell me about your life on here! love, rach
