We are FINALLY done with the nursery!!! We have everything moved in, painted, hung in the closet, and folded in the drawers. It might sound silly, but now that this is done I feel like I'm more ready to be a mom! We've done everything we can to get ready for this baby, and I guess all the real "mom" skills will have to come after he's born. At least we have a place for him now. So, without further ado, THE NURSERY!!!

View from the door. I love how the walls turned out! Scott didn't think it would work...ha! Showed that fool. Do you just love the Dolphins trash can......Scott got it from his parents' house this last weekend when we were there for conference. I guess he has to get this kid liking all of his teams right away.

The crib and bedding (and his first set of golf clubs....)! I probably should have taken this a little higher so you could see the inside of the crib with the bedding on it, but you get what you get when a shortie's taking the pictures! We got the crib from my cousin Kellie. Her father-in-law made it (along with the changing table btw). I can't believe how lucky we've been in getting stuff for the baby. So many people have been so generous to us!!

The other side of the room. With my glider :) and the dresser my parents gave us. We put a fresh coat of blue pain on it so it would match the room, and then we decided that it would be really cute if the doors were brown! So we painted those too. I kind of wanted to do some sort of glazing or something on the dresser, but it didn't happen. I didn't really know what I wanted to do with it (and still don't), so for now it's just staying as is.

I just had to take a picture of the swing (Natalie's letting me borrow it--thanks again, Nat!!), because the stuffed animals just looked so cute in it. The lamb is mine from when I was little (I think I named it Lamby--so original...), and Montie the Moose was Scott's. They just look so excited for the new baby!!

Ha!!! I had to take a picture of this just because it seemed so ridiculously amazing. This baby has a TON of blankets. All of these (except maybe one--a swaddling blanket) are homemade! I decided this closet thing in the dresser would be the perfect place for his blankets, and it's almost full! I couldn't believe it. It probably will be full soon, actually. I have another blanket I crocheted that isn't quite done yet that will go in here, and my mom's in the process of making a baby quilt too.
By the way--notice the blanket that's blue with sports stuff on it (right near the top with blue ties). Scott made it!! I guess he made it in Home Ec in middle school, and he had his mom save it for his first baby. Love that boy.
Anyway, that's the nursery!!! I think it's way better in person. Sometimes I go hang out in there because I think it's just so cute.
Oh yeah, and a baby update--I went to the doctor Tuesday, and she pretty much told me to expect to go over my due date... :( I'm still holding out hope that he'll come sooner than that, but I guess we'll see. She also said he's between 7 and 8 pounds already....which means if he comes at his due date he'll be between 8 and 9 pounds, and if he comes after his due date..........I'll need some serious prayers!!!!!
Brooke! Your nursery is adorable. I love Love it. You guys did such a great job with the painting. Its so cute. I bet you're so glad its finished. I can't believe all those blankets! And I can't believe they're all homemade. Won't be much longer now. Although, I'm sure everyday feels like an eternity, now that you're down to the last couple weeks.
ReplyDeleteSO CUTE! You are so good at these types of things! Will you be my nursery decorator when I have a baby?!? haha. Anyways it looks so wonderful and cozy...your lil' guy is going to LOVE it!
ReplyDeleteit looks pretty sweet Brooke. i noticed lamby right off the bat. i love how all the colors match so well, i feel like the glider is totally camouflaged it fits so good.
ReplyDeleteThanks guys! I'm loving it too :) and I AM so glad that it's done! Candace, you're totally right. Every day it feels like I have the feeling that there's no way I can do this for another day...but I don't really have a choice in the matter, so I'll just have to tough it out and hope he comes sooner than the doctor thinks.
ReplyDeleteShelley--I would LOVE to decorate your baby room :) you'll just have to move closer to me so I don't have to commute so far!
Thanks Rach! Yeah, I definitely don't think it stands out quite as much as it used to.
