Domestic Mommy!

I did a lot of sewing to prepare for Duncan when I was pregnant, but i kind of packed up my domesticity since he's been here.  Recently I've pulled it out again and I've been sewing a lot (mostly for people in the ward who have had little babies).  I recently made this little guy for Duncan:

 Which he approves of....
I think it's a fun take on a tag blanket.  I referenced this blog and ended up stuffing it with an old, cut up t-shirt ( I didn't want poly-fill to seep out into my baby's mouth, as I knew he would be chewing on it).

Then a week or two ago I started making baby food.  I wasn't sure how it would turn out, but Duncan loves it!  I started with a few sweet potatoes and carrots...

And then last weekend I got a Bountiful Basket.  It had more sweet potatoes and some pears, plums, and bananas, so I made some more baby food.  I also tried a bag of frozen peas.  They all turned out looking pretty good, I think!  Some of the foods are totally worth making, and some (i.e. peas) probably are just cheaper to buy the Gerber pre-made food.  It's actually really easy, too.  I referenced this website and this blog.  I saved all of the Gerber containers that we've bought so far for easy storage and the no-bowl-required ease.  It's so easy to just take out a couple from the freezer the night before and nuke them for a few seconds to take the chill off.  I would soooo recommend doing this (at least for some fruits/veggies).
