We saw the Navy Museum on our way to a whale watching tour. We didn't have time to go in and see anything, but we heard that it was pretty cool.
This is where we took off on our tour. The skyline just looks nice: big, but not too big. Agghhhhhh I seriously loved it there so much.
I think this was a Navy submarine. I can't remember if it was going under the water or coming up out of the water...
You can't see it very well in the picture, but this buoy had little baby seals all over it!! Apparently every year the babies all congregate to this exact buoy and take turns laying in the sun and swimming.
We saw quite a few whales, but they were so far away that I couldn't get any really good pictures. We saw a couple of different groups of dolphins too, and those swam up right next to the boat!
One day we went to the San Diego temple. After a looong bus ride and a bit of a walk, we made it to the temple, and it is probably one of the most beautiful buildings I have ever been inside. The outside is gorgeous, but the inside is even better!! There's even an atrium in the middle.
We also went to the San Diego Zoo, which is so enormous!! They have two elephant hedges at the opening to the zoo. So cute.
I wanted to say something witty about this sign saying that "they look so much like their extinct relatives"...but I don't really feel like making fun of myself today....
We got to see the elephant getting a pedicure!
And we felt bad that he/she? had a nub for a tail. Poor thing.
Weird bird...
The apes are Scott's fave. We got a pretty good show from this social guy.
This turtle (tortoise, maybe? I can't ever remember which is which) was so huge!! Check out the neck!
Scott was so jealous of this guy's super suave look:
And I was jealous of hers:
Ummm...Not.
The cute pandas were probably my favorite. I think Duncan would have loved them.
My all-time favorite find at the zoo was this guy. I just had to bring him home with me!!
This was out the patio door of our room! Loved the private beach, but the sun was only shining here in the early morning (and it WAS February), so we went to the public beach because it was warmer.
Scott was brave and went into the FREEZING cold water. I went in, but only up to my thighs, and we didn't get any pictures to prove it so Scott claims it didn't happen.
While we were waiting for our flight, we saw this little bird fluttering around the terminal. It was so weird; not one person besides Scott and me even looked at it! Either it happens all the time or it was a ghost bird and us Fiebers can see the dead now...
An amazing trip. I really loved it. Duncan stayed with his Grandmas while we were away, and I missed him so much! That was the only downside. Scott was patient with me and we called to make sure he was happy all the time. Next time we'll take him with us. San Diego is really family friendly, and when we go back he'll be old enough to have such a fun time.

I love vacation! Looks like you had a fun time. Seriously you should come cruising with us!
