Duncan's Birthday

As I have (rightfully) been informed by many, it's been far too long since I posted anything on the blog.  I've been so overwhelmed with moving, painting, cleaning, and a million other things that blogging has really been on the back burner.  I contemplated giving it up completely but decided that wouldn't be fair to all who don't get to see cute Duncan every day like I do.  It's been three months since I last posted, and I wasn't even completely caught up with all I wanted to post about then, so forgive me if I am playing "catch-up" for the next infinity year or so...

Duncan's birthday!!  Two months ago my sweet little baby turned one year old!!!  I can't believe how time has flown with him.  I really don't have any regrets and I feel like I have enjoyed him as much as I possibly could have.  There have been tough days, but there have been more snuggles and kisses and love than I ever could have hoped for.  I want to say that it's worth every bit of all the pregnancy pain and all the hard days, but it's even better than that; it's worth so much more than I can ever say, and I cannot believe how lucky I am.

Scott was able to get work off for Duncan's birthday, so we all headed to the zoo!

Duncan really liked being able to climb around, and at first I thought he was going to love seeing all the animals!!

The truth is, I think he was more interested in all the kids at the zoo than the animals we saw.

I don't know if you can tell that a tiger was sleeping right by this window, but Duncan loved being able to stand by all the big kids!  I don't think he knew what he was looking at, but he was sure cute standing in the lineup!!

At this point Duncan really wasn't walking by himself (he'd taken a few steps but really wasn't too interested in it), but Scott got him to walk for a while, just holding one hand.

I was so worried that Duncan would have gotten sunburned because we forgot to bring sunscreen, but we bought a hat at the gift shop, and he kept it on all day.  And don't worry, he's still just as white as ever!!

We all had such a great time at the zoo.  I love getting out with Duncan because he just loves it so much.  It was a great birthday in our new house, and we had a birthday party to look forward to that weekend!
