Memorial Day Weekend

Anyone that knows my family knows that we grew up on popcorn.  My mom buys my dad a 50-pound box of popcorn kernels every year, and sometimes that isn't even enough.  There are plenty of funny stories in my family that revolve around popcorn.  So it surprised me when I found out that Scott was the ultimate popcorn kid growing up!!  I didn't know until after we were married, and when I found out I realized that we were destined to be together for more reasons that one.

Over Memorial Day Weekend we went to Evanston, and Scott's mom made some popcorn.  We had put Duncan to bed, but he was not having that, so we got him up for a little while longer.  We joked that he smelled the popcorn and didn't want to miss out on the party, but I think it really may have been just that.  If he has a bowl of popcorn he's a happy guy, and if he doesn't think he has enough, he'll start eating out of your bowl, so watch out!

I love that he doesn't even look at the bowl when he's reaching in.  This is the first time he ever actually had a bowl of his own, so I guess it was just instinct!

While we were there, we went out to the State Park to see the bison.  There were even some new babies out there, and some of the bison came right up to the fence.

We especially liked this guy's bangs...Lol I don't know who cuts his hair, but it is amazing.

Some of my siblings went to E-Town for the weekend too, and my sister's baby, Kate, and Duncan were having a great time together.

  1. Glad to know he fits into the family, popcorn and all. One of my favorite stories is your flaming bowl of death when I was on my mission.
